Yes. The course is built directly from DfE’s Generative AI in Education guidance, the Product Safety Standards (January 2026), and KCSiE 2025. Module 2 (Safety, Safeguarding and Your Legal Obligations) covers your statutory responsibilities in detail. Module 0 (free) takes approximately 25 minutes. The full paid course (Modules 1–8) is approximately 7 hours of CPD, delivered across eight modules of 45–60 minutes each. You receive a branded CPD completion certificate for each paid module you complete (1 CPD hour per certificate) — eight in total across the full course — plus the AI-Safety Certified Educator digital badge on completion of all eight. Module 0 doesn’t carry a certificate, as it’s a free taster and the AI-Safety Certified Educator digital badge — suitable for use in your email signature, LinkedIn profile, and CPD records. The certificate records your name, completion date, and total CPD hours. Schools and MATs receive a record of all staff completions for their CPD audit trail.

All licences include 2 years of access from the date of enrolment, with content updated every September to reflect the latest DfE guidance, AI tool updates, and safeguarding requirements. This mirrors the annual review cycle used in safeguarding and other mandatory CPD — so your training stays current, not outdated. Renewal is available at a reduced rate — full pricing confirmed closer to your renewal date.

AI guidance is moving fast. A course certified as current in 2024 may be significantly out of date by 2027. The 2-year model with annual September updates ensures that what you learn — and what your certificate reflects — is accurate and up to date. It also mirrors how schools already manage safeguarding CPD renewals, making it a familiar and defensible model for SLT.

School licences cover your entire teaching staff under a single purchase, with each teacher receiving their own Moodle account, individual progress tracking, and a personal CPD certificate on completion. The course is delivered through Moodle — a professional, widely-used learning platform trusted by universities and schools worldwide. You access it through your browser on any device. No app download is required. The course is designed to be mobile-friendly, so you can work through modules on your phone or tablet as well as on a desktop.

No software installation is required. You will need a NexisLearn account (created automatically when you enrol) and an internet connection. During the course you will work with free AI tools including Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Google Gemini — all accessible via a standard browser with no paid subscriptions required.
