Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using the NexisLearn website or purchasing any course from us. By using this website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Who We Are

NexisLearn is operated by Muhammad Asif Khan, trading as NexisLearn, a sole trader based in Taunton, Somerset, United Kingdom.

We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our prices.

2. What We Offer

NexisLearn provides online continuing professional development (CPD) courses for teachers, school leaders, and multi-academy trusts (MATs) in the United Kingdom, delivered through our self-hosted learning platform (Moodle) alongside our website (WordPress/WooCommerce).

Our flagship course, “Teaching in the Age of AI,” is structured as:

  • Module 0 — a free introductory module, available without payment
  • Modules 1–8 — paid modules, purchased individually or as a bundle

Course content, structure, and pricing may be updated from time to time. Where we make material changes to a module you have already purchased, we will not reduce the value of what you paid for without reasonable notice.

3. Who Can Use This Site

Our courses are intended for working professionals in education — teachers, school leaders, and school/MAT staff — and are not designed for use by children. You must be 18 or over to purchase a course or create an account.

4. Accounts

To access paid course content, you will need:

  1. A NexisLearn account (created at checkout), used for billing, order history, and future purchases; and
  2. A Moodle account (set up on first login), used to access the course itself.

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us immediately at [email protected].

5. Orders and Payment

  • Prices are shown in GBP (£) and are correct at the time of publication, but may change without notice for future purchases (this does not affect orders already placed).
  • Payment is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your card details.
  • A contract between you and NexisLearn is formed once your payment is confirmed and you receive an order confirmation email.
  • Promotional pricing (such as early-bird discount codes) is subject to availability and any stated usage limits or expiry dates, and may be withdrawn at any time before it is applied to an order.

6. Access to Course Content

Once payment is confirmed, you will receive automated emails guiding you to set up your Moodle account and begin the course. Access to purchased modules is granted for 2 years from your enrolment date, and content is reviewed and refreshed periodically (typically each September).

Because this is digital content delivered automatically upon purchase, please see Section 7 (Your Right to Cancel) below for how this affects your statutory cancellation rights.

7. Your Right to Cancel

If you are a consumer in the UK, you normally have a legal right to cancel a distance purchase within 14 days without giving a reason under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Because our courses are digital content delivered immediately on purchase, this right ends early once you begin accessing the content, unless you have expressly agreed to immediate access at checkout.

In addition to your statutory rights, we offer our own refund policy, giving you more flexibility than the law requires. Full details, including how to request a refund, are set out in our Refund and Returns Policy, which forms part of these terms.

This does not affect your other statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (see Section 8).

8. Your Statutory Rights (Consumer Rights Act 2015)

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Digital content we supply must be as described, fit for purpose, and of satisfactory quality. If it is faulty, you may be entitled to a repair, a replacement, or a refund. For more information on your statutory rights, visit www.citizensadvice.org.uk or call 0808 223 1133.

9. Certificates and Badges

On completing all 8 paid modules and passing each module’s assessment, you will receive a CPD certificate and an AI-Safety Certified Educator digital badge. These confirm completion of NexisLearn’s own course and CPD hours; they are not a government-issued or regulator-issued qualification, and do not constitute DfE approval or certification of you or your school (see Section 10).

10. Accuracy and Use of Course Content

Our course content is designed to be aligned with, and to reference, published UK Department for Education (DfE) guidance, Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE), JCQ guidance, and UK GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018 requirements, current as at the date each module was last reviewed.

  • Course content, including our “Prompt Bible” and any templates or policy summaries, is provided for general professional development purposes and does not constitute legal, safeguarding, or compliance advice specific to your school or MAT.
  • You remain responsible for exercising your own professional judgement, and for checking current guidance and your own school/MAT policies, before relying on anything from the course in your professional practice.
  • We describe our content as “DfE-aligned” or “mapped to DfE guidance.” We do not claim, and you should not describe our course as, “DfE-approved” or “DfE-certified” — no such approval or certification exists or is claimed.

11. Intellectual Property

All course materials, including video, text, activities, quizzes, the Prompt Bible, downloadable module cards, and certificates, are the copyright of NexisLearn (or licensed to us) and are provided for your personal, professional use only.

You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publicly share, or use our course materials to train any AI model without our prior written permission. Where our content includes material published under the Open Government Licence (such as direct DfE guidance quotations), that material remains available under the terms of that licence.

12. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • share your account login with others or allow non-purchasers to access paid content;
  • attempt to copy, scrape, or extract course content for redistribution;
  • use the website in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it, or interfere with other users’ access.

We may suspend or terminate access for any account found to be in breach of these terms.

13. Our Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim relating to a course purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that course. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profits, loss of data, or reputational loss, arising from your use of our website or course content.

14. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the website and Moodle platform available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, as our platform is self-hosted. We may need to take the site offline occasionally for maintenance or updates and will aim to do this outside of peak hours where possible.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, and material changes will be dated at the top of this document.

15. Data Protection

Any personal data you provide to us is handled in accordance with our [Privacy Policy], which explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

16. Complaints and Disputes

If you have a complaint, please contact us first at [email protected] — you’ll hear back from a real person, not an automated system, within 2 working days. We will try to resolve any issue quickly and fairly.

If we cannot resolve a dispute directly, you may also use the EU’s Online Dispute Resolution platform (where applicable) or seek advice from Citizens Advice or Trading Standards.

17. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
