GCSE Maths Resit — For Schools and Colleges

Structured GCSE Maths resit support for cohorts

The pressure on resit provision

Post-16 research identifies shortages of qualified subject-specialist teachers, recruitment and retention difficulties, larger student-teacher ratios, attendance and motivation as significant challenges. NexisLearn is designed to provide consistency around—not instead of—timetabled teaching.

What a cohort licence can provide

  • structured learner access across six Foundation strands;
  • consistent teacher-checked explanations and practice;
  • learner engagement and completion information;
  • strand-level progress and mock-readiness evidence when those features are tested;
  • exportable reporting for internal review.

Important funding boundary

For 2026–27, the condition of funding requires minimum face-to-face teaching for relevant learners. NexisLearn online learning is supplementary and cannot replace those required hours. Institutions remain responsible for teaching, exam entry, attendance, safeguarding and statutory reporting.

Getting your school or college set up

Contact us and we will set your school, college or sixth form up with cohort access, sized to your students. We will agree onboarding, safeguarding and data-processing terms with you directly before any student data is transferred.

Under-16 learner accounts

Individual self-registration is available only to learners aged 16 or over. An under-16 learner must not create an individual account or enter personal details. Their school or college should contact NexisLearn to arrange an institution-led route. The onboarding, safeguarding and data-processing procedure must be agreed before any cohort data is transferred.
